THE GROUP EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
The Group Executive Committee manages the business
affairs of the Group and comprises elected/nominated leaders, parents and
other supporters. The Scout Group holds an Annual General Meeting (AGM),
to which parents/supporters are invited. It is at this meeting that the
Group Executive Committee is elected. Law regards all members of the Group
Executive Committee as 'Charity Trustees'.
The Group Executive Committee exists to support the
Group Scout Leader and is responsible for:

the maintenance of Group property
-
the raising of funds and the administration of Group
finance
-
the insurance of persons, property and equipment
-
Group public occasions
-
arranging accommodation and assisting to find camping
grounds
-
assisting in the recruitment of Leaders and other
adult support
-
appointing any sub-Committees that may be required
-
appointing Group Administrators and Advisors other
than those who are elected

PARENTAL SUPPORT
As a parent you can help out in various ways to improve
the running and activities of the Scout Group. These include:

responding to all communications in a positive and
prompt manner

ensuring that your child attends meetings regularly,
on time and in full uniform

encouraging your child to meet their commitment to
attend church parade

pay all subscriptions and membership fees promptly
-
become an Adult Leader
-
become an Instructor or Helper (a reduced commitment,
but a chance to pass on skills)
-
join the Group Executive Committee (be part of the
support body and trustees of the Group)
-
providing transport for Scouting Activities when
requested
